UPS as a company does not discriminate against religious beliefs as long as it is in your application, but there are locations that drivers have to be part of the union, and other union driver will discriminate and hassle you for not working on Sabbath. I know, that happened to me, and when I took it up to the supervisor he said that the supervisory position wasn't union so he could not do anything. Ended up leaving the company after that Christmas rush.

In truth, there are quite a few different religious denominations that observe the Sabbath besides those religions. There are Zionists, Church of Yahweh, and several others. Anyway, just offering insight.

The Sabbath is a day of religious observance and abstinence from work, kept by Jews from Friday evening to Saturday evening, and by most Christians on Sunday.

You’ll have to go local because OTR drivers are pretty much 24/7 drivers. It’s common for local drivers to not work on Saturdays and Sundays. When I was a local, few drivers worked Saturdays and almost no one worked on Sundays.

McKee Foods is owned by 7th Day Adventists. If you work for them in any capacity, you will be off duty for the Sabbath.

I converted to Judaism some years ago but had since fell away from it and I believe the trucker won't be struck down by god if he had to work on the Sabbath because what he or she does is necessary to keep humanity from collapsing into chaos. Same would go for working in Medical field, Security, Military and Law Enforcement because they must keep society intact and depending on the type of occupation. Criminals don't take a day off and illnesses don't take time off. The 5 must needed occupations that is involved 24/7 and rain or shine is Trucking, Military, Medical Field, Security, Military and Law Enforcement and god will understand if those they created must maintained society. Also those who are looking for an opportunity to invade other countries don't take a day off either.

My husband and I have kept the sabbath as truck drivers since 2004. We now are older and went to regional so we are always home on the sabbath but when we we were over the road we prayed and God always opened up paths to keep his sabbath. We would spend a lot of sabbaths at rest areas. Had picnics during daylight hours, what I’ve always prayed for was a hotel chain that would let you pay extra for a room where you wouldn’t have to leave until sundown without paying for 2 days but God has always gave us a path to keep the Sabbath
