Auto pilot sees other lane of traffic still moving. That and the open frame of the truck must have confused it.
Yet why in God's name was the auto pilot on for slow traffic?Bud A., mjd4277 and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
Well, dummy, it seems you are reliant upon technology that has yet to be perfected. -
Well in theory that's what it's supposed to be for. When the autonomous cars come, drivers will be whisked to and from work with no interaction at all. Some ambitious firms are already designing cars without controls. No brakes or steering, just a tablet interface to input destination.
All these smoke & mirror pipe dreams when the reality is (as demonstrated) programming for the real world is going to take a lot longer.Cat sdp and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
Obviously situational awareness isn’t the Tesla driver’s strong suit!

Yea guys, let's go ahead and push for this in an 80k lbs death machine ...

Sorry but I’m calling bs on this one.
Ok guessing his foot was on the brake and he was looking at his phone, not realizing he was slowly letting go of the brake peddle.
I doubt what ever made that Tesla stop all of sudden disappeared from its tracking system.
then again never know but most likely first scenario. -
Are you saying ambulance chasing lawyers would obfuscate the truth in order to win a settlement from a major manufacturer?
I'm shocked! SHOCKED! I tell you!
Someone hand me some pearls to clutch.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
I like how he allowed it to roll into the truck.. Was he taking a nap, making a sammich? Pretty sure the driver still has to be alive
Flat Earth Trucker and Bud A. Thank this. -
