I did way overkill. I kept 4 of the 1150 CCA batteries. Never had an issue out of them. In a different truck now, but will likely replace these with them when they go
What truck batteries do you use and how long do they last?

So where is everyone getting their AGM batteries from? The dealer? Online?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Should be able to find em anywhere.
Walmart has em for my car and motorcycle.
My current motorcycle battery was bought there.PE_T Thanks this. -
I grew up on the die hard series. As much CCA I could get out of them. They lasted several older V8s going from car to car many years. I was forced to quit using them when they were not available anymore.
Regarding batteries in Semis, I just need 4 fat ones, big CCA. And if the problems begin after they start getting tired or whatever, they get replaced asap. Brand or money did not matter.
There was a experiment a few years ago when I bought my first gel deep cycle and threw that into the personal vehicle. I think the deep winters killed it eventually failed the load test and we dropped a standard interstate into it. A year later its dead too, dropped another interstate into it warrantry for free. Its still holding up ok, but I will be making changes for the next one. Probably to migrate away from the side posts and so on.
I realized that battery plants made different branding. However I tried to use sealed batteries without having to worry about checking fluid levels in them. Like pappy used to do back in the 70'struckdriver31 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
always check date on battery before buying.

If your inverter gets used every day (microwave, fridge, e.t.c) batteries usually last only about two years. It's good to change them every other Nov-Dec.
Without inverter good batteries (for example the ones what Freightliner dealer sells) can last up to four years.
However they cost $115, while regular 925cc cost only $75truckdriver31 and PE_T Thank this. -
go with gel batteries

Freightliner sell batteries branded "Detroit", not sure who makes them. They are dual purpose, so they will withstand the "hotel loads" pulling them down and recharging without loosing too much off the plates. Regular starting batteries dont like being discharged, these are a hybrid starting, deep cycle. They are right around $100 each and I get 3 full winters out of them. Cant complain.
