Not necessarily to disagree, since there might be different rules down in your part of the world, but last I heard over in the Delmarva chicken country they have to be processed within 2 hours of leaving the farm.

I never had a whole Lotta lights but I had an 87 359 with the Navajo white 3406B took out the 15 over put a 13 double over swap the 370s for 390s there are few people on here they probably know what I’m talking about!
Leave Lordsburg somewhere past midnight and you’d always catch two or three of those chicken trucks ,course they’d all be hauling produce and hauling ###!!
Sure brings back a lot of good memories and a lot of fun.

The rooster cruisers had a short window to get the fresh killed, fresh chickens to the market in the north. Now, just about every commercial bird has been frozen, so no need to rooster cruise in the night.

Not true. Once the chicken is frozen the value drops.
As said, the birds are processed, boxed according to the customer and then loaded on the truck with shaved ice. As soon as those doors closed the refer was set to 28 degrees I would leave either Jasper Al or Enterprise Al Friday afternoon and had to be downtown LA monday no later than 4am.
