I have a friend who has a Volvo and has issues with mpg...he states that everyone he’s talked to who has one says the same thing...my question here is...what is everyone’s mpg with a Volvo is especially a 670 model.

6 to 7.5 depending on the driver hauling dry van or reefer

6.5 - 7.3 - 8.3 depending on load, trailer, terrain, how quick it's gotta be there :) I used to pull a Refer trailer out of Green Bay WI back and forth to Florida and all over the East coast. My best was 8.3 for 1 month not exceeding 60mph in a 2003 Volvo 770 w/Cummins ISX450. That's back when Fuel went to $5 a Gallon

I run a 2017 670 with the D13 and IShift... Over the last 13 months (160K miles) I have averaged 7.4 mpg pulling reefer from the Rockies to the Midwest and back each week. I'm governed at 67 mph and average 62 mph or better 90% of the time... I keep my foot in it.

The best I've gotten for a week was an average of 8.1 mpg... But that high is rare the way I drive... If I wanted to slow it down to 60ish mph I think I could easily average over 8.0 mpg.

These numbers are figured by using gallons purchased and miles travelled... Not the stupid dash read out that estimates mpg... Its wrong, WAY wrong.

All trucks today get about the same fuel mileage. Matter of fact, fuel mileage hasn't changed all that much in the past 50 years. The BS'ers seem to get a bit more,,,:biggrin_2559:

Between 7 and 8 has been normal, depending on load and route.

7.5 year round no matter what I do. 2015 780. I run the APU and the Espar a helluva lot. Never seems to change. I haul light when I can and drive fast when I’m able.
