    Go with tanker work.

If you followed any of my stories regarding container work, it's nothing but heartache and tears.

I'm on the NE side of Chicago proper. Gary would be closer for me than Joliet, and I believe they're both closer than anything in WI. Thanks!

I would go tankers and immediately ask to be put on the ecolab account. Gotta wear that suit every load and it’s all hazmat but 1. They actually maintain the trailers for the most part 2. They keep you busy all year round. being that you’re close to the area you’ll also be home every other night.

    Hi all,

Does anyone here have expertise/knowledge about intermodal tanker? I'm wondering if since intermodal is (or can be) home daily if the intermodal tanker would allow a driver to enjoy the "benefits" of tanker but get to go home everyday? Are there any Schneider local (home daily) tankers? All the tanker I see is regional and I guess I'm trying to find some sort of loophole to do tanker but get home everyday.

Also wondering if just doing regular regional tanker (not the "intermodal tanker") how often one can get home? I was told regional tanker is categorized as home weekly, but then I've heard that regional (maybe they were talking about regular regional intermodal, not regional tankers) can get you home "every other day."

Thanks so much for any help/opinions!

Regional in the tanker world is usually out and backs, You might spend 2 nights out and weekends off.
Iso regional is the same thing. Theres plenty of local work around here also

    Thank you, slim shady!

Do you have any opinion as to which of these two would be better:

Dedicated Tanker - Home Weekly - Joliet
Regional Tanker - Home Weekly - Chicago

Chicago is a little better for me distance-wise, but I hear dedicated is better planned out/more predictable/has less time wasted sitting around waiting for them to find something for you to do/etc. Do you know which of the above two would get me home more often? Thank you SO MUCH!
