They aren't going to give you anywhere close to that many miles.

Every time you go home you end up with lost time. You will not avg 481 miles per day for the days you are on the road with dry van. You will be getting some short loads, and taking loads out of a terminal to deliver 30 miles away, also taking other drivers short loads so he can go on hometime, delays, etc, etc.

A lot, as some others have already pointed out.

I go home about once a month. That is, 3 full days off for every 4-5 weeks out.
That week that I get home, and maybe the one after I go back, are short on miles.
Just getting me home makes the planners plan things in certain ways that can really mess up the miles.

If you take 3 days every two weeks, you will always be trying to get home and never trying for those nice long loads that you can actually do 500-600 miles per day with.
Because every time you load or unload you are losing driving time. Every time you go home you are losing at least 2 days of full time driving - plus the days with zero miles because you are home.

A calculator is fine for the bean counters who are only concerned with possibilities.
For the driver it is a different matter.
We worry about what we can actually do, not what might barely be possible in ideal conditions.
And trust me... Conditions are NEVER ideal out here, especially this time of year.

The last day of school a Schneider dry van driver/recent graduate stopped by. I sat in on his meeting and began asking him pertinent questions. The guy was about as useless as a screen door on a submarine. He was able to answer my hometime question (out 24, home 6). He didn't know his weekly miles (doesn't keep up with that), and when I asked him directly if he made $700/week, $1000/week, $1200/week, he replied, "It depends on how much you run." Geez, it was like pulling teeth. I got up and left in frustration.

Hahahahahahahaha you were a draw for entertainment. It's amazing how the name on the side of a truck changes perceptions

Many companies will tell you a number of miles that they average per week. Prospective drivers have to take it with a grain of salt. You won't drive 2600 plus every week. You won't drive 481 miles daily. Sometimes you'll do runs that are under 300 miles. Other times you do much bigger runs. I tend to think that on average these days that drivers get more like 2300-2500 miles, and that's still good enough to make a living on

He's right. You'll never have 2 identical weeks.

I just want straight answers so I can make a well informed decision. I don't want to be the guy to whom you write, "Dude, why didn't you do more research before you dove in?" :)
