Ok, so I’m confused.... {shocker}
I thought there was different processes to claim detention vs lay over... I had a SNAFU that went well beyond a few hours of detention but my DM is telling me that they handle it the same... use the detention macro for both and then they decided on the back end which to pay.
I guess I missed that memo.

So, getting drug tested yet again. I mean it’s only been 4 months. And 2 months before that. And 6 months before that. And 3 months before that. And 6 months before that. Am I irritated about it? Yeah, kinda, but it’s like I told them after the last one, you can test me every flipping day and I will pass it. But dang!

At one of those “who the heck designed this dock” kind of places... blind side back to each and every dock, large boulders to deal with ahead of you, and those yellow barrier posts to protect something... protect what I don’t know, but they are to each side of the dock doors and tight... LOL

That has me a bit worried if Knight bought Abilene. Schneider bought Watkins-Shepard and look what happened to them. Seems it's becoming more and more a thing now.Sudden shutdown of Schneider final-mile unit leaves furniture shippers scrambling for options - FreightWaves

Here’s another WTH thing.....have y’all noticed the testosterone fest in dispatch? There are ZERO women in there now. ZERO!!!! What gives? There really never has been any. And I believe we ALL know why that is. Especially if said woman actually has the balls to do the job. Is this the norm at other companies? I don’t think so. I was in dispatch at Smithfield Packing and there were about the same number of men and women. USX was the same when I drove there.
Hmmmm....maybe that’s why I’m the Queen of having to be drug tested. I question stuff. Oh well. I’ll sit and get paid to go pee all day, every day. Not a care in the world on that.Last edited: Jan 31, 2020
Lonesome, jarhead0311 and runningman0661 Thank this. -
Knight used to pick me for randoms frequently. I guess they knew that I would pass.
Rocknroller4 and RebelChick Thank this. -
Maybe they can’t find ladies, or ladies are less likely to apply, that want to work in a male dominated field like trucking and then by default dispatch.
... personally I would not mind hearing a lady’s voice on the other end of the phone now and then... would make getting the short end of the stick a bit more pleasant ... like how many Car Dealerships use ladies to break the bad news about fixing their cars... loldwells40 Thanks this. -
p608 and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.
