I have a question re: ultrashift plus transmissions
I drive a 2020 kenworth t680 with a Cummins x15
And a 13 speed ultrashift transmission.
How do I engage the engine brake in 8 gear or less. The jake works great on the highway but if I want to crawl down a steep hill I can’t figure out how to engage the jake. A work around is to speed up to 10th and then the jake works fine and I can control my speed from there.
Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me .
I am thinking that there has to be some parameters that the shop guys can change with their computer
Ken
What am I missing here?

Probably parameters.
Personally, with a 13 manual, I’m off the jakes below 8th gear - 3:55 rears.062 Thanks this. -
To the op most likely parameters. I have mine set to work above 10mph.Bean Jr. and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
I have a t680 but with a Paccar and the Endurant. The jakes cut off at around 15mph but it will work regardless of gear or speed if I set it in manual mode. Give that a try?
062 Thanks this. -
I’m still in bed dreaming the boss will give me a shiny new Cascadia. -

I am going to get the shop to try and change some parameters.
I am just new to this ultrashift stuff.haycarter Thanks this. -
If anyone is interested in the solution to my Jake brake issues, it was a setting in the parameters. The Jake was set to turn of at speeds under 35 mph. Up here in British Columbia , Canada, that just won't work. We set the cut off speed down to 15 mph. I haven't tried it yet, but that should work a lot better.
Drive safe,
