Storm here a few years ago, don't get crap like this very often. Figured I'd put my little Kubota close by in case we got anything. Also brought my cat crawler up in case I needed plan B. Glad I did.

can you keep it in the trunk until you need it, or do you gotta feed it and keep it warm, in between snowfalls..???G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
OK, just started a 34, catching up on everything. I was 15 when this happened, but I don't remember it. I was in Sioux City at the time. It doesn't even make the top 20 snowstorms of all time for Sioux City, so it must have started further east.
But I do remember a blizzard in 1973 when I was 10 or 11. We lived in a little town then. No school for like three or four days. Six foot drifts, maybe higher -- I'm afraid I might exaggerate them since I weighed 100 pounds then. (I remember because I was 10 when I hit 100 pounds and I was so happy to get to triple digits! Never made it to 6'2", though, dang it.) We dug tunnels and made igloos and generally spent most of the time outdoors playing in the snow.
I remember a snow plow getting stuck on our street. They brought a tractor over to pull it out, and the tractor got stuck. Finally they got the road grader over there somehow and that pulled the other two out. When we all got back to school, the farm kids had their stories, but finally I had a good one too, starring the Chief of Police. (He was also the town road maintenance guy.)
The other blizzard I remember was October 1997 in Colorado. I lived in Colorado Springs and worked in Denver, drove home Friday night during the blizzard in my 1990 Bronco II. They closed I-25 behind me. I literally had the whole road all to myself all the way to the Springs. Couldn't make it to work on Monday or Tuesday because the roads were still so bad in the Springs. My boss was pissed. Several people died when they left their cars after they got stuck and got lost in the blizzard. I remember one guy died like a quarter of a mile from his house, just got disoriented and died from exposure.
If you made it this far, here's the dessert:
Q. What is something that 90% of kids will eat but only 10% of adults will eat?
