Hopefully the forward radar will get covered with snow so it won’t work anymore. :biggrin_25523:

Wow. I've had many of those leak, badly. I've seen em weather worn and age rotted to the point that you wonder they hold air at all. I've never seen one blow out completely like that.

sounds like a cannon shot. mechanics say a rock or something with edges get in between the bag and the bottom cylinder. Bag inflates, gets a cut that doesnt hold, meanwhile the bag continues to inflate during leveling on hook..... BOOM!!!!

Some people just get lucky in different ways. Over the past year I've done less than 50 miles (probably closer to 20) bobtail, and I've had two rocks thrown off the tires into a rear window (day cabs) on two different trucks. Two rear windows blown out.

Told my boss I'm not bobtailing trucks over to the shop for service anymore.

Had a Volvo if you did not drop the air bags before dropping a trailer , it would bend the mounting bracket for the leveling valve. Over inflate the bags till one would blow . If you would catch it and drop the bags before it blew , call the tech to come fix the bracket not a airbag.

we run International and KW. My truck is a T680 daycab. Leveling valves are just below the top of frame rail.
Both these instances was on hook not drop

I have found that the back glass flying on your neck evaluates the heart rate rather quickly.

Both times the window shattered but stayed in place until I pulled over, getting off the road and hitting those bumps made the glass start falling out.

The first time it seriously sounded like a gun shot, startled the heck out of me, then I saw what happened, then I freaked out a little bit because I had strapped my dolly (food service) onto the cat walk to bring back to the yard and I thought I had seriously screwed something up and thrown a strap or something through the window. That one got the blood flowing.

The second one I was already in a p'ed off mood and I had barely left the Penske yard when it happened, my immediate thought was just "***** *** *****, not **** ****** again, **** ***** **** *****." And that's the cleaned up kid friendly version.

scariest noise i ever had was a GROUSE hit the air dam on the roof. Bout dropped a load in my seat, until I saw it roll across the road behind me.
