#1 why would you resign? it only shifts the "fault" from them to you.
#2 report report report and not via the truckers report forum.

Knight had a driver with 30yrs driving most with Knight . He & another Knight driver got blown over in a wind storm on the back side of a thunderstorm. He was fired because unlike the other driver he didn't park his rig & just slowed down. Parked non- prevent ,not parked unemployment line.
You think they gave a crap about his millions of accident free miles, his 18yrs at Knight ?
You wreck you, are damaged goods. Their driver metrics have determined that a driver that has an incident or accident is the most likely to have another within 1yr of the first one. It's not personal, just mega bean counting.

As long as you accept the fact that your labor is a commodity and take the human factor out of it, you will be OK. It's the sad reality of what this world has become. When you are no longer useful you will be done away with in the blink of an eye.

IF OP was expert on black ice and it's dangers surely OP would have adjusted speed to conditions.

I have spent so much time on all sorts of ice. With a good truck and a minimum of dancing or even gravity induced trailer jackknifing along bridge barriers etc I get through ok. Once in a great while Ive been caught on ice for example entering a cored section covered in wet hailstones at 70 mph one time. I thought I was dead. She slipped a bit so Mr hold steering wheels straight got me through that patch. Am awake now. AND makes for a story later on in life.

ONCE or twice I recognized that I am on Black Ice when she got loose on me and the situation is right for it in the night. ive gone into the first parking area I could find where i can wait until sunrise and melting before proceeding.

Common Sense. Takes a little time for Dispatch to wait on you, maybe adjust appt time etc.

I don't view ice problems grounds for quitting. Thats rather weak.

That sucks! In some states(Wyoming, for example) if there is a high wind advisory for light, high profile vehicles, and you choose not to park it, and have a blow over incident, the state will throw the book at you. I would imagine that most companies would definitely do the same, if that were to happen. I'm not extremely shocked that the driver was let go, even with a perfect record.
