2003 cat c15 single turbo MBN 475hp in a Peterbilt.new turbo ,flow through mufflers. It smokes black when under load constantly, not just a small puff when upshifting but a steady stream of smoke, also just had a valve set done and air and feul filters so all that is outta the way and made no difference......worn injectors ??

Major boost leak? How much boost pressure are you building?

Boost is great almost 40psi it's actually done it for a long time it's just strange to me that it would smoke constantly, runs perfect otherwise

Hmm. Only thing I can think is a sensor issue or rebuild time? Possibly a sensor like the air flow is reading incorrect and not throwing a code. I have a MBN and it only smoked on shifts.

    Kw Owners Club Thanks this.

Check your oil. Had a guy on the road I helped out that probably blew his turbo and was sending all his oil right out the exhaust pulled his dipstick and bone dry.

Obv you’re isn’t blown but could be sending your oil out the exhaust. Check exh tips for oil residue. Intake or exhaust valves stuck or out of adjustment or plain jacked up.

I was thinking he was black smoking which is unburnt fuel.

Is the engine running the factory program or something else?

I believe there is a boost sensor mod that fools the ecm into over fueling. @Superhauler can probably tell you where and what to look for.
