    Since were on it .
    Its gotten flat stupid to find a decent shop in Omaha any more without getting robbed and or lousey attitudes.
    Have 2 friends with 680s bought at kw of Omaha before mhc bought them
    1 has his kw work done at kw in clintonville pa and the other at kw in Youngstown ohio .
    To busy kissing Werners arse .
    And probably what I'll do too.

    I wouldn’t buy anything with those kind of miles on it unless it has had a rebuild and new one box installed recently.

    Well it was revelation day today and I haven't even talked to Brad Morehouse yet .
    Some may remember when I got a case of kw 680 fever a year ago when I had the freightliner overhauled and it lasted about 3 days .
    Today I got to thinking about all the blood sweat and tears I've got into this cascadia and had to admit to myself I'm attached to it , know what I have and been through it stem to stern and while it will never be a t680 its still a pretty nice truck that turns heads even if i get mad at it sometimes.
    Found out today the shop in Omaha i was thinking about having it deleted at got hit by the epa for 250k and all that truck and owner info was collected by the EPA so that's off the table now as they no longer do deletes.
    Thinking that unless I get offered a steal on a t680 and a killer price on my cascadia I'm going keep it and work through things .

    The one box is a dd15 issue , I have a Cummins.

    Regardless, I’m just not sure buying a emissions truck with half a million miles on it is the best thing to do. Especially one that is from a fleet. You could very easily be in the same boat you’re in now with your Freightliner.

    Also one other thing to know about with those KW’s, they have a crappy wood or composite type floor that is known to rot out near the front cab mounts.

    Wasnt that a t2000 issue ? And maybe t700s ?
    My engine problem was the carbon packing that affected 12 and 13 engines , I got 2 friends with 15 and 16 680s approaching 700k with no problems.
    In either case I'll probably be keeping my freightliner anyway .

    I thought KW was doing that on all the non narrow cab tractors.

    Either way, hope whatever you end up doing works out for you.

    Time for an update :
    So Tuesday morning on my way out of philly the sob coded and derated again !
    I made it to the kenworth dealer in Lancaster ( mt.joy) and currently still here waiting to get into the shop ...and btw what a class act kw of Lancaster is ! , super nice people , let me park here and gave me a loaner car while I wait .
    Anyway I can't name names or where but when I get back to Nebraska I got the go ahead to get my truck deleted .
