A dog in the truck is the best option when asleep indeed.

My wife and I had just laid down, almost drifted off, when our Chihuahua started barking, then We heard the handle of the door being tried. It was locked. I started hollering hey hey hey like a madman. They ran off. Don’t really need an altercation, as much as I’d like to pop a cap in their arse. I don’t need that either. It surprisesd Me.Ive never had a problem anywhere, in the worst of areas. We were at MAPCO, I 65 exit 112. Cross Plains Tn. If it can happen there, it can happen anywhere. Later I realized her purse was visible on the floor. They had the guts to try the door though, after the dog barked. I’m older now, and don’t need my wife’s safety compromised. My drivers door only locks from the outside. So we’ve been sleeping with it unlocked. Got to fix that. I could lock it with the key, not too worried about it. But it could happen. I feel sorry for the person, as my wife will literally kick the #### out of them. I’ll sleep through it all.

Have a pocket knife that also has a seatbelt cutter and a glass breaker on it, keep with phone, wallet and keys. Cutting your way out is gonna be faster than trying to undo the strap/seatbelt normally

    TallJoe and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Locked doors don’t mean a thing.. I’ve proved it to other drivers before when I grabbed my key and unlocked their truck.. manufactures only have so many keys . So it’s not uncommon for your key to fit other trucks and they have a master key that fits a bunch of different locks.. keep nothing valuable visible is my motto

Im sorry I forgot to include it.

It's US 322 about a few miles west of the Duncannon US15 interchange north of Harrisburg. The river is Juanita.

In my day its a gravel pad. In google earth they expanded the spot.
