the boss told me to "get out".
i learnt too that many companies have NO LOYALTY to the employee's, and here's what i mean.
1) they do not give you a 2 week notice when they are going to fire you
2) they do not give you a 2 week notice if they are going to lay you off
3) they don't give you a 2 week notice if they are going belly up.
read about all the companies where the fuel cards are shut off, with drivers thousands of miles from home.
read about all the companies where the people show up for work, and the gates are locked up tight.
i ALWAYS just up and quit on the spot.
as my mantra was always, "they will notice in 2 weeks, that i ain't there no more"
and i ALWAYS got jobs.skytrash, faux_maestro, TripleSix and 3 others Thank this. -
Clean out the truck really good then walk into a terminal and hand them the keys, then walk out and catch a cab to the airport. No talking needed.

i could have ever cared less. there was no more company loyalty on my part, then there was on thier part.
but that was just me, and i always got jobs.
in fact, truth be told, i was rehired by one that i went back to, just to "visit" the boss. they had a job opening, i started that night.
then i quit again about 2 months later...lolsupremegod and bzinger Thank this. -
when they can't give a flip, why should we?bzinger Thanks this. -
Some of this hardcore advice is interesting, especially in light some things she already revealed about her situation on other threads.

I prefer to give 2 weeks notice but am prepared if they decide not to use me for those 2 weeks. Last time I did this they used me for the full 2 weeks.
One of the items that are recorded on a DAC report is if they would rehire you. Being polite and giving notice goes a long way towards having them mark this "yes".faux_maestro and Muskie Thank this.
