At what point does a truck driver start to earn respect as a safe driver? Like approximately how many miles does a driver have to accumulate before other truckers or their superiors will kind of view them as a good driver? I’ve got about 155,000 ticket free, accident or incident free miles and I honestly feel like I drive the truck now about as confidently and competently as most drivers out there. I mean there’s only so much knowledge and skills you can gain as each of us have our own peak.
so I’m basically asking if you’re shooting the bull with another truck driver, at what point would he consider you likely to be a good experienced driver, I hear numbers like 1,000,000 miles and I hear about these truckers that have three and 4,000,000 miles with no incidents, I think some of those might leave a little fender bender out here in there. LOL or a banged up trailer perhaps. I’ve made it to 150,000 miles and I can see how going to like 2 million without any sort of incident at all, could be quite difficult. Because you know what happens out there

Usually I give respect to another human being immediately, then it’s up to them to keep it that way!!!

Well I've been driving since 95. I'm still waiting.

If you have awards, then there’s your answer.
If you’ve had an accident at 3:00 EST today and none since, then you’ve been a safe driver for an entire 5 minutes.
Whatever you’re situation is, bear this in mind. Typically, when one starts telling himself or others that he’s good is when starts screwing up. -
Rideandrepair, spyder7723 and buddyd157 Thank this.
