Schneider loves bringing in fat drivers. Like any other mega, they have physicals that push sleep studies so they can get their kickbacks from the Sleep Apnea industry.

There are home testing services where they send you a kit and do an overnight test at home.

    It's like $159...

Where are the HUGE kickbacks in that? :)

I am not against Sleep Apnea testing. I have it and have used a Bipap for nearly three years now. I wouldn't want to be without it. If a person even thinks he may have it he/she should get tested at the earliest opportunity. If could end up saving their life.

I'm just against the arbitrary way some of the megas contracted CMEs seem to try to fit everyone into the "he needs a sleep study" mold. For many of these people starting out that $159 is not in the budget. I have heard there are a few companies that will not only pay for a study but also supply the machine if needed.

I get it. It's all about outsourcing the potential liability.

17" neck is the standard that will get you sent for sleep study at Schneider. Although CEMEX had the same standard.

I think Schneider pays for the study and the cpap, at least they used to.

I can testify to that. I pick up a load on sat in Mankato Mn (78 miles from home), deliver to Frankfort, In mon morning (dont leave home until sun afternoon), load in Lebanon In (20 miles away) and deliver that to Faribault, Mn tues morning (20 miles from home). Then I pick up a Coke load out of Eagan, Mn (15 miles from home) tue night and hit 3 stops between Eau Claire, Wi and Green Bay - then back to Eagan, Mn wed night. Im away from home 3 nights a week (and actually I sleep at home during the day on tuesday), none of it ever hits the board, and I make a little over 5k after LS gets their cut.

I do it every week. Have for over a year. I know a guy that runs Dallas - Little Rock - Faribault - Dallas every week and has been for 11 years. None of that hits the board either.

Speed_Drums, flood, jeff18 and 2 others Thank this.
