Probably no money in full service restaurants at truck stop. Look at T/petro. Even Petro is close them at like 11pm. Remember when they had 24/7 buffet. The food sucks it not any better then fast food.

Love's has free parking, drives don't want pull in truck stop and deal with reserve parking in the day time. They are saying your NOT welcome here unless you pay to park. Loves can't pump the fuel fast enough so many driver use them. I was Love's in GeenUp Illinois they were 3 deep waiting to buy fuel.

I'm not arguing that they'd make more money by having an actual restaurant. I'm just saying that when given the choice between processed lunch meat 10 dollar subway garbage that I can make myself for 50 cents or dried out chicken nuggets/soggy pizza/half ### made 10 dollar burger combo, or instead buying a whole tasty cooked chicken for 6 bucks at Kroger that I can break apart and make a dozen real chicken sandwiches out of I'll spend the time making my own tasty food 10 out of 10 times. The millennials can have all of those nuggets that may or may not actually contain chicken but definitely do make you run to the ####ter one in 3 times lol.

I have a rice cooker instapot type thing that you can make just about anything in such as Jambalaya with shrimp, sausage, etc and it's cheaper and safer and much tastier to make 3-4 meals than eating once at Subway or the pilot display case food. Or instead I could spend 12 dollars on 5 dehydrated Popeye's chicken strips with a handful of fries and a drink. I get 24 sodas for 5 dollars at Aldi. I save my pilot or loves points for when I need an emergency box of water or 1/2 gallon of milk or run out of soda.

If I grew up eating nothing but hotdogs and lunch meat that also tastes more like hotdogs than actual meat I'm sure I'd prefer Subway to an actual restaurant too but that's not what happened.

Maybe they should spend some cash on the older Love's. Man, the showers are disgusting. And add laundry rooms to all of them. I like looking clean.

I don't mess with fast food, I read the nutrition facts at a Hardee's menu and couldn't believe the sodium content of just one chicken sandwich, it's like 1000mg in one little patty, chicken isn't that *****n salty. Sailors and pirates used to do that with meat...salt pork, to preserve it long after it would normally have started decomposing. It's not food, it's processed food product, full of sodium and sugar and fat and it's the reason cancer and obesity is and has been rampant, feeding a populace on trash. I keep non perishable staples and use tobasco and olive oil and seasoning to change the flavor to not get food fatigue. Raw oatmeal, canned beans, tuna packets, mixed nuts, sunflower seed + cranberry + raisin trail mix (walmart brand red bag), doritos (corn and palm oil), and granny smith apples for the sweet tooth / sugar fix (the little ones, an un-refrigerated bag will bounce around on the floor for 4 weeks and still not go bad).

Come on man, I like Doritos too but let's not pretend that it's health food. Speaking of sodium content? LOL.

Basically corn and palm oil. Cheese powder. There's actually dairy in the cheese powder too lol . Mix doritos with ranch style beans and tuna you got Frito Pie. Pour in some milk you get Nachos con Leche...:D

Sit down restaurants are not profitable in today's world because too many drivers are cooking and eating in their trucks. They get less exercise as they are not even walking into the stores even to use the rest rooms. Some just use the asphalt as their own personal rest room.

Flying J closed their restaurants years ago and contracted with Denny's. TA is contracting with IHOP for nationwide coverage. A lot of Petro's are closing the Iron Skillets for Express versions. It's more profitable to lease the space to them then to keep them private. Thus money in the bank for their investers.

As stated they are not going to just be fueling spots with free parking and not make a profit and then clean up the pee bombs and trash that so many in this industry do daily. We created this mess so Loves is a great choice and private to boot.

We didn't create the mess. Pilot/Loves/TaPetro did when they were allowed to build everywhere replacing the actual truckstops that were there, then decided that they'd rather sell us the fuel and cater to the general public instead.

I dont believe that he is saying you created the mess or himself or myself. If you look anywhere trucks park you find trash.
4 wheeler are guilty also but actually look where it is primarily trucks that park you find alot of trash.
