Hnmm, I don't think I have ever seen a handheld power Mic with channel up/down buttons.

I use the RF Limited Extreme 2018 with mine...I also use a 4 pin to 6 pin adapter too so I didn't have to rewire the 4 pin Mic...No up and down buttons tho, have to use the channel changer knob on the radio.

Haven't experienced any problems with mine yet, and it's been installed for going on two years now...I will say this, if you didn't have a shop do a P&T on it, you may want to open it up and adjust the modulation and SSB...That's the only thing I did to mine, and it helped give it a little extra bump in how loud it sounds without over modulating...

Here is a video done by "CB Magazine" that shows you exactly what needs to be adjusted for modulation and SSB...very easy to do, all you need is a external watt meter, and a small screwdriver. (very small...like something you would use for eye glasses).... Takes longer to take the cover off than it does to do the adjustments...

Other than that, nothing else needs to be done to that radio, other than maybe running a Amp behind it...I run a 1x2 box behind mine and see about 400w's out...

IMO- if your going to run a amp with this radio, it needs to have a driver stage...(1x2, 1x4, 2x6) The McKinley is not a PowerHouse radio, so to get the most out of it, amps with a driver stage really makes it come to life.
