I’m new to the owner op business but not new to politics. Who is our voice? Are there lobbying efforts for owner ops? I’m sure the ATA or other organizations focus on the mega carriers interests.
I’d just like to know who represents me as an owner operator for government regulations and control. And I’d be interested in getting involved to be a spokesman or a contributor for the improvement of our industry.
So any thoughts or info is appreciated! Thanks
Who is our political voice?

The ATA (American Truckers Association) is notorious for being led by mega fleet owners who do things directly in opposition to the needs of Owner Operators.mitmaks, rachi, Deere hunter and 1 other person Thank this. -

Aint none.
The chorus of all motor carrier associations, OOIDA, ATA etc across the USA is just a pile of self serving ... wheel spinning, money piling, bunches working for dewey cheatham and how incorperated.
Ultimatey when you understand the extent of FMCSA's and DOT's impotence as federal agencies swallowing ever increasing amounts of Regulations from our Dear Congress you will find that Trucking will commit a form of Legislative suicide in a few years at this rate.blacklabel, adayrider, Midwest Trucker and 3 others Thank this. -
Ooida claims to be the voice of owner operators but in reality they are the voice of truck drivers that bought a truck and suck at running a business.
