    900K is overhaul time.

900K I think I'd get a newer one, and all we use are Cascadias.

Mine with an ISX is at 700K, and I just overhauled the aftertreatment system.

Me. I like to stay more modern.

This is if it were me - 900K, I'd definitely get a newer truck.

Series 60 all day everyday. Obviously this eliminates California..
Probably the most reliable, & affordable truck engine on the planet. & if properly spec'd can still get just as good of fuel economy..

Think of it like this. If they were no good, the gov't wouldn't give 2 sheets about them & would have no reason to try & put a lid on em..

Also you can always try another def truck if the glider don't workout. Def looks like its here to stay. Gliders are dying..

Why a Cascadia? Even if you want to stay aero, the t660 is probably the best looking aero truck ever made. Close 2nd be a Pete 386, or 384.. Lots of way better looking trucks out there for the price if you want a glider..

I'd say no, the fuel mileage will be at least as good, if not better.
What do you consider bad mpg.?
I'm in the upper 8's with a '92 build ddec ii series 60..

I've heard some newer dd15's in the 8's but I have no way to verify it..

Of the big 3 pre EGR, Detroit, Cat, & Cummins, I'm pretty sure the Detroit is going to win in the fuel mileage category everytime when driven right..

Maybe some other series 60 owners will chime in with their fuel mileage #'s..

I averaged high 7s over the life of my last 12.7. That's pulling deck freight. A van or reefer is better for fuel.
This n14 select+ is in the high 6's over all average, with low 7s when doing aero friendly loads such as steel that only sits 2 feet off the deck.

The old man had a non-aero truck with a 12.7 S60. 4.56 rears and 18 speed. Loaded around 95k lbs. About 50/50 on/off highway. Seem to recall he said he was around 5.5 - 6.0 US MPG.
