A guy I went thru orientation with quit last week. He said when the Ops manager called him to try to talk him out of it, he offered to just give him a leave of absence so when he wants to come back, he will retain all his seniority. The driver said when he heard that, he just started laughing at him. When the Ops manager asked what was so funny, the driver said that he was leaving because he doesn't want to, and I quote, 'work for your monkey ###'...and he would be very very desperate to ever come back to this place. The driver said that he got the feeling he might have offended the manager a bit, and most likely burned the bridges to a crisp. That right there is a relative idea of who Wylie is...they just can't imagine why people don't want to work for their elite ###...but it's been rumored that they have one of the higher turnover rates in the Daseke family, you'd think they would be use to rejection if that is the case.

That MavIC driver probably got loaded at Rossford. I used to go to Owatonna once every couple months because that was usually the load I got after home time from Laurinburg. Now I haven't done Laurinburg to Owatonna in about a year and only been there from Rossford but before there were usually 3 Mav trucks waiting at Viracon to get unloaded and maybe 1 Moore truck there. I've never seen Wylie there but it's been at least 6 months since I've been.

Lately all I've been doing is Guardian to Guardian loads and then waiting a day for my next load instead of them assigning me one that's already loaded. Then I'm supposed to be in a hurry to deliver it when I get a 24 hour delivery window and I only will have 900 miles for the week on Friday? I should just show up at the last hour of my 24 hour window because when the week ends Saturday I'll get paid the minimum whether I have 900 miles or 1800 miles. Then my new week starts on Sunday so if I have a 600 mile weekend load it's in my best interest to drive on Sunday instead of Saturday.

After I get empty here in Amarillo I head to the lovely villa of Wichita Falls TX to live load going to south FL.(most likely a Monday del). That's the bad thing about glass(and a fair amount of flatbed as well), customers that open on the weekend are rare. Although this'll put me at around 2300 miles by delivery and enough hours to make it back to Laurinburg before our Tuesday noon payroll cutoff. Not bad for glass hauling in Feb.

*Update...just got pulled from my Medley load, no explanation given...

*Update 2...put back on the Medley load, but live loads Friday nite...and they want it in Medley Monday morning. 1500+ miles in 2 days again. I guess I need a red Pete with Wylie on the side...they must have some sort of space/time continum altering device that our Macks don't have.

What I was wondering about by asking you if the Wylie drivers make less is if they are reducing the Moore drivers miles to give them to Wylie drivers because it definitely would save them money.

You just lost a nice load, somebody else gained a nice load.

I noticed that I get less miles when I get our full 6cpm bonus compared to when I don't. Last quarter I only got 2cpm bonus (and had great miles) because I got such bad miles over the summer that I took almost the entire month of September off at home. I got bad Miles in the summer last year when I was getting the 6c bonus. Right now I'm getting the full bonus. Seems to add up nicely. I'll end up with my 6th straight full week of sub 2000 miles. With the 6c bonus I get 65cpm. With a 2c bonus I only get 61cpm.

    That's awesome.

Have fun driving more miles in the next 2 days than I have for a week+ haha.

    Seriously, 400 Friday. 500 Saturday. 0 Sunday. 100 Monday. 400 Tuesday. 0 Wednesday.

I need to find a part time job somehow.

Yeah those miles don’t even make things laughable when you’re getting paid by mile.

For safe experienced drivers that’s insulting. Can I assume they at least have affordable healthcare with good services?

I think it's decent healthcare but I'm not using it because I am retired military so I get VA for free +Tricare for like 50 a month.

If not for that I'd pretty much be working for healthcare since it's over 200 dollars a week, which is crazy because I remember that in 2015 it was a little over 100 a month for family.
