Saw that today myself. My lease is up next week. I'm starting a freight brokerage business. I really feel sorry for folks, especially the new people suckered into the program. They'll make half (or less) of what they would as a company driver anywhere else.

My lease is up on the 4th of September. I'm in the middle of looking for other employment, but with the current job market, plus the complexities of being on the road, makes this very very difficult.

Seems like all of the major companies are again advertising on Sirius. For the first few months this year, I didn't hear ANYTHING. Companies like Knight, Boyd Bros, Schneider, JB (lease only), and others are actively hitting the airwaves. has to be some openings for experienced people.

Dont hold out on us DD8, tell us what you really think. I worked for CRE back in 06. The key to CRE is to work for them just long enough to get what you need out of them and get the heck out because they like to fire people right about the time they have one year with the company. That 911 is yellow isnt it? I thought it was a little over the top as well.

so how did you all make it towards the end of your lease to begin with????

i look at all the fees and it's not something i would even want to start with. let alone make it to the finish. it's unreal the fees they have. and they are the ONLY company with those fees. although i found one other company that had similar fees but not quite as high. i see it as nothing but a gauranteed win for england on free labor and a gauranteed fail for the driver. so what's the secret??? i would love to be do a lease to get my feet wet. but not at the expense of making england richer.

be careful what you do. if you don't finish your lease your gauranteed a REALLY BAD RAP ON YOUR DAC. england loves to destroy people. they don't want you around after so long. but they don't want you working for anyone else either. someone really needs to take england to the government. and as far as that dac goes. that's really illegal. people can't find work when there dac is ripping them apart becuase of companies like england. dac needs to be outlawed. unless it benefits a person instead of destroying them.

a lot of other posters are bragging 6.8 - 7.0 mpg. if england trucks are only getting 5 something wrong with that picture.

if memory serves correctly. my trainers truck was getting 6.5 - 7.4 8 years ago.

I have a Century, I average 6.8-7.0, but I'm also on the PODS dedicated fleet with a flatbed. I have a lot of downtime, too, and idle a lot, so it's probably a wash.
