Highway transport, seems great when you first get there. Positives already mentioned. Negatives- communication could be alot better, especially when dealing with dispatch. Health insurance is expensive. Sometimes the loads are good other times lean for weeks. Being on time, accurate, everything done correctly and safely is still no guarantee. Highway transport seems to run off a reputation, but it doesn't always work out that way.
cuzzin it Thanks this. -
How expensive ? How much for a single driver per week is the health insurance ?

Over a month on waiting list I was just offered that regional position out of pittsburgh. They are still looking for a few system drivers too.

No you’re paid weekly currently they have a minimum guaranteed weekly salary, you will see a lot of the east coast specifically New Jersey there’s a customer in Swedesboro, New Jersey we go to quite often. We haul a lot of Caustic loading out of Proctor,WV, Exxon Mobil out of East Liverpool, OH is another place we load out of and BASF in Monaca are just a few.

Thanks, any New England? How far west have you gone?

Occasionally you’ll see Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut not to often I’ve been here going on 2 years and I’ve been up that way maybe twice, far west I’ve been is Sergeants Bluff, Iowa that was last year we know longer go there but you will go to Illinois, Michigan, Indiana lately we’ve been going to the Carolina’s a lot~overall Ken (terminal manager) will try his best to keep you running, but keep in mind everything is based on customer demand. For example you’ll get a load one moment and the next thing you know it will cancel doesn’t happen often but it does happen~hope this helps.

I am looking at the knoxville location. My current flatbed job has had me doing a lot of sitting lately for days and days on the road. Has hytt been keeping busy through the countrywide shutdown?
I have the X endorsement and twic card but their website also says they want a passport. Is that really needed for a regional or system job out of Tennessee?
