I have been looking to join an good company. I have searched alot of companies and it seems like alot of companies are hiring students and those companies are all class c trucking companies...i.e. your jb hunts, schnieders, kllm, cretes, etc. is there anyone out there that can lead me in the right direction besides the .com sites i have searched and applied to atleast 60 of them so far and the same companies keep calling and emailing me . i need help from my fellow truckers out there that are or know good companies that do not advertise or go thru those .com sites. thanks in advance . cactus jack:biggrin_25514:

If you're interested in flat bed work...Maverick Transportation. They are hiring experienced drivers at this time (no flat bed experience necessary, just driving experience...they will train you for flat bed)

Just an fyi i do not have anything on my dac/usis report stating any thing negative about me . I have been turning down job offers from multiple trucking companies that i have researched( put in an lot of hours researching via internet, phone calls, word of mouth, and experiences on the road) i am looking for the cream of the crop the companies that do not advertise they are hiring. Because lets face it if an company is worth anything they do not have to advertise. Thats why i am turning to my truck driving friends to assist me just a little bit on my efforts.
Who knows it might just help anyone else who see's this post in assisting them as well.
I have over 14 years experience driving, with no felonies, no accidents, no speeding tickets, no convictions.
I just am looking for the next trucking company that might just be the end of my searches and turn my list of jobs into an career in trucking.
Thanks to any and all that read and support me in this effort. Cactus jack

your not alone, 1000,s in the same boat you are, almost all advertise sooner or later, so don't discount that, they run out of word of mouth, cousins, uncles, ect, I personally found it best to go in person, show em what you look like..............after all, looks account for alot, show them your talk your walk , how you dress, how you communicate, your attitude, if you go in lookin all scrubby, chances are you'll be scrubbed, if your good as you make yourself to be, they'll see it, it,s almost simple as that, theres still a shortage of pro,s..................anyone can be a sterrin wheel holder, and alot of companies believe it or not , are not lookin for steerin wheel holders, but pro,s, thats one good thing of what is going on now, it's a chance to keep the riff raff off the road

Outlaw companies that are any good? Are you kidding? Anyway... there are a lot of smaller outfits that will hire the right person. Not exactly a big market for drivers. The big ones will always be hiring. Even in bad times, they can't keep drivers. Also, those "outlaw companies" days are coming to a close. With the stuff being shoved into the new transportation bill coming soon, those guys are done for. Better to look for a small outfit (usually regional) that has its ducks in a row and ready to move forward regardless of what D.C. throws out there. Unfortunately, they don't advertise for drivers due to having a real low turnover, because they are good at what they do. Most of that is word of mouth. FCC out of Fremont, NE is a good one, they have hired recently and have a few drivers out of OK. JMS out of Waterloo, IA is a good one. Just will have to 'beat the weeds' to find a carrier that works for you. Just make sure you really do the research on any carrier you try to go with and make sure you are not stepping into a mess. One of the things in the new transportation bill being drawn up is that not only will your medical certification be tied to your CDL, so will your carrier's safety rating as well. Just found out about that one from a recent meeting of the Truckload Carriers Association's independent and owner operators held in Dallas this week. For me, after almost 3 decades in this business, I am not going to lose any sleep when the renegade outfits bite the dust.
