I pulled up next to a dump truck today. I looked over at the door and I see something I never saw before.
There was the usual company name with MC and DOT numbers, but there was also a “Sponsored by *****”.
Now, I know this so-called “sponsor” personally from delivering to him before so I won’t mention his name here, but what is this about?

Had to look it up out of curiosity..
“If you saw a truck displaying "Sponsored by FMCSA," it is likely part of the Safe Driver Apprenticeship Pilot (SDAP) Program. This program allows 18- to 20-year-olds who have military commercial driver's license (CDL) training to operate large trucks across state lines, provided they are sponsored by a participating motor carrier.”

Advertising. Plain and simple. I see it more and more too. I see it on school buses, which I kind of hate. But I see it on all sorts of things like dump trucks.
Just someone using that truck's public 'persona' to market their own business/name a little more since the truck is visible out in public. -
Good chance the driver is a "content creator ", and the 'sponsor ' is paying in hopes his name shows up in a viral tiktokMACK E-6 Thanks this.
