I believe he’s preparing to pull off the ultimate bank heist. For that Dk I recommend A cube van, unleaded (not so doggish ). Engine, tranny and the rear built to hilt but a quit exhaust. Drop the suspension, low profile tires and a 4 point extended wheel base for added stability. Black in color and don’t forget your night vision….Good luck bro remember me…

I assume you mean a bobtail? Yeah, I can do that in my new 9200i. Trailer on, even empty, forget it. But as said, why bother?

    Hey Guys

Sorry, no bank heist or drag racing in the future for me.

It's all out of curiosity. The geek in me.
We see it on TV, we see it in the movies.
Overdrive was on cable this past weekend.. :)
Trucks chasing cars/motorcycles down (Terminator 2), etc.

I wanted to know how a typical real world truck performed. I threw in the
slight load and drag, that way I can throw some figures into a math
problem, to see if it makes sense.

So i figured I talk to actual truckers and get their opinions and
    experience.

    So keep the info coming.
    And thanks.

One needs consider STOPPING time as well cause anytime one has the truck rolling well one needs to effectively STOP the truck too, or do you simply use other vehicles for stopping??
With the minor weights you are considering, why not utilize a smaller vehicle like a Freightliner straight truck with a 6-speed??
Bucket trucks are not designed for quick off line spurts nor are any trucks unless otherwise modified.

Since you're a fan of the fantasy world of movies, maybe ya might wanna try a Trapeeze without a net, or strapping many Helium balloons to a lawn chair for an "uplifting" experience.

In case ya ain't been paying attention, MOST MOVIES anymore are merely computer generated hogwash including the garbage of "Gone in 60 seconds" the Nicolas Cage version, and the Bruce Willis goofiness of "Die Hard 4", yet then again some people will believe ANYTHING.

"strapping many Helium balloons to a lawn chair for an "uplifting" experience."

Do you have any idea how many balloons that would take?

    Hey TNY,

If you provide me with the weight of the chair, person and balloon.
As well as the maximum volume the balloon can displace,
I can give you an estimate.

    CK -
I understand that trucks are not designed for quick accelerations.
Does that mean no one should ever ask "what is a trucks capabilities"?

Its all hypothetical and for fun.
