    Hey,
    Detroit diesel 60
Every time i go up a hill no matter how small it is i get a puff of black smoke out of the exhaust.
I've replaced to delta pressure sensor, and have taken it to freightliner, but they always say "we couldn't replicate the problem" and charge me anyway.
any ideas what it could be? I'd like to start with the cheapest issues first. That's why I replaced the Delta pressure sensor cuz it only cost like 200 bucks and I know that can be an issue.

What rpm are you running at, and are you loading up the engine instead of shifting the tranny??

I don't have a huge wealth of knowledge on the Series 60's but I'd advise checking the basics first. Does the truck just let out a puff or is it a constant, light haze from the exhaust? Does the truck feel like it has lower than normal power?

I have her in the detroit shop right now. It's looking like the turbo actuator needs replacing.

Dirty air filter ,Loose clamps on the air intake side, leaking charge air cooler, thinking black smoke indicates way more fuel than air.
