No, no........on second thought, pay the $15k, and sell it back to them for $50k more than you paid for it.
I just saw a new Cascadia advertised here for $260k........easily $100k more than it got last year.

You don’t have a sales contract yet. You paid $1500 for your order slot. And on the last page of the spec sheet it says prices can change at any time.

I agree, buy it and quickly resell it. You will make out like a bandit. You should thank them.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I'd call their bluff, demand the deposit back and see what happens. Worst they can say is no.

Legal recourse? You have none. You didn't sign a purchase order.

    c.w Thanks this.

Can you execute a sales contract at the time of order? I suppose not as there is no VIN assigned until manufacture?

    c.w Thanks this.

You can have a sales contract at the time you order, it will say VIN# unknown. If you're trading in, it will have the trade in price and purchase price.

If you buy enough/have a history you can get a sales contract at the time you order.

Ask a dealer how often someone orders a truck, puts down a deposit and then can't get financed when the truck arrives. Happens more than you think, that's why most deposits are non-refundable

How can they guarentee a trade-in price? A lot can change in regards to vehicle condition in 3 months to a year. Do they have a clause stating brakes and tires must be at X percent or better at time of trade in?

Bean Jr. and Oxbow Thank this.

I have two quotations from a Peterbilt dealership and at the bottom..”Disclaimer” clearly addresses this unfortunate increase.
“Dealer reserves the right to change quotation totals to reflect any price increases from the manufacturer”
And it goes into greater detail.

I wouldn’t get too bent out of shape over it.. Buy it and sell it for $60k over what you paid..

Bean Jr., haycarter, tscottme and 2 others Thank this.
