    Yeah it seems Nebraska went and picked on a bunch of farmers and grain haulers so they could make some revenue

    If California or any state want clean air they should pay for the maintenance and the repairs of those high
    maintenance and Emission systems
    The driver should not be the only one to bear the burden. They depend on trucks as much as the drivers do. Why in the hell should the driver be the only one taking the smack for this.

    How is the driver the only one? As a driver you charge a premium for CA loads to offset your emissions cost. That cost gets pushed onto the customer and finally the consumer. If you have a CA qualified truck and your not charging CA more money that is your own fault. My premium covers CARB and the high fuel cost no problem. It's about knowing your operating cost and making sure you cover them.

    It seems I seen somewhere that a company is charging a California surcharge to ship things into California , fed ex maybe ?

    The problem is that in order to maintain a CA compliant truck you must charge everyone "premium CA rates".
