Like I said I have 1.5 yrs experience otr hauling dry vans, no accidents no tickets, looking to switch to tankers, does anyone know who would hire me with the experience a little less than 2 years, I have no accidents and no tickets, clean record, I've already applied at cox fuel transport, and I haven't at KAG because I noticed it said 2 years experience, I appreciate the help

    Lots more information needed.

    Where do you live?

How long do you want to stay out?

Will you stay OTR or do you want to be local?

Do you have the required endorsements (tank, Hazmat)?

Are you afraid of climbing on top of a tank to check the cleanouts for tightness. Are you afraid to deal with dangerous (sometimes) chemicals?

1.I live in long beach California

    2. I would like to be home every weekend

    3. I'd prefer to be local rather than otr

    4. And I have all endorsements, tanker hazmat doubles triples combination

    5. Not afraid at all to climb up on a tank, and dangerous chemicals don't bother me as long as I have all the right safety equipment

Here are some possibilities. Apply even when you don't quite have the full two years. A clean professional appearance and a great attitude will go a long way with getting some of the rules bent.

These are just a few to get you started. Spend some quality time with Google as there are a lot more.

Be prepared to take a lesser job and get a year pulling a tank if necessary. Not all tank companies are willing to train. Again a professional appearance and good interview skills will help you to get some rules bent.

Disttech is owned by KAG they require 18 months. They are willing to train. Home weekends and 1-2 nights at the house a week. Depends on terminal some are home every other day.

If drivers have a year or more OTR some tank carriers only require the tank training given in orientation.

Try A&R Transport. They require 3 yrs. experience, but apply anyway, they may need drivers right now. Those CA A&R drivers average $62K per year.

MH60L posted, Clean Harbors, that's a good one also.

Apply every where you think is a good fit, even if they require more experience than you have The worst they can do is say no, you never know how bad they need a driver they might bend the rules for you.

I was really hoping that cox fuel transport would take me on, every driver I talked to said they wouldn't go anywhere else, called them today to check on the application, they told me they accepted a different app at this time, really bummed out about that, I'm going to do as you all say, just start applying at all of them, but I'm going to keep bugging cox trans, that's where I see myself
