Got a few questions for ya'll cb gurus,
First, is there a good, true 100 amp output amp to run am and fm out there under $150? I'd rather underpower a large amp and not get it's full potential, and have a clean transmit. I'm going to be running a President Barry radio. It's like the Andy model, plus fm.
What mods should I ask for on my Stryker 955hp to fix the blown out recieve and hopefully prevent some over amped buttwipe from frying it again?
100 Amp linear, and Stryker 955hp receive mods,

I would just ask for a "clean" "conservative" tune/detune. Since it's a new radio I would just leave it alone and use it "virgin" with an optional small amp.
Most small amps will work fine with a stock radio without modification. Unless you get the radio "tweaked and peaked" and it puts out more than stock, then they need to be "tuned/de-tuned" for the amp. The "rabbit hole" goes plenty deep in this regard and there are many ways to "spin your wheels" and give people money for nothing.
It depends on the amp. find out what transistor final it has and google for it's specifications on how much input it can tolerate.
IMO, Ain't nobody going to notice a difference between a 100w output vs 250w. Don't sweat the small stuff.Windmill Hill and Tall Mike Thank this. -
You can send it to Harddrive in New Mexico to make the mods.

Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -
Why would running the amp under power produce more heat?
