way too cool, that a living vet was there, who served, and watched it take off.

a great way to honor our vets.

I’m glad they are finally restoring it. Its needed it for a long time. They kept pushing back the schedule.

Doubt we will have anything built today going in for repairs in a 108 years

I had a new house built in 2004
    2x6 construction etc
After a year the builder had to pay $80,000 to redo the siding
    $30,000 to regrade the lawn

My dad had a home built in the late 1800 or early 1900??
Either way it’s still standing today
    Dirt cellar and stone foundation

The German settlers in 1800’s Hill country Texas built their houses out of solid rock usually 18” to 24” thick walls. Mountain Cedar and Live oak floors and roof shingles. Many still standing today.

well, my house was built in 1860.

field stone foundation, wooden/concrete floors in the cellar, brick support columns in the cellar, wooden beam cross supports that steel wishes it could be, formerly had gas lights, coal fired heating boilers, and in the basement (long gone) a toilet that had the tank near the ceiling and a pull chain flush.

    Shawn2130 and GYPSY65 Thank this.
