1099 for employment verification

    I'm trying to get into the trucking industry. For the last 7 years I've been doing carpentry work getting paid cash. The company that I'm applying to asked for 2099's to verify employment. Since I was paid cash, I don't have the forms. My question is do they actually verify the 1099's? Thanks in advance for any helpful information!

    they want to verify your time and whereabouts. they just wanna make sure you weren't in jail all that time.

    you might need a letter from say an attorney to verify your time/pay situations.

    or a letter from the employer(s) stating the same..

    Try a different company.
    Which company is asking you for that information.
    Attend a private cdl school if you can.

    Wilson Logistics. I'm trying to get into company sponsored training. I can get the employment dates verified by the employer, but I don't have a 1099. And I'm surely not wanting to send the recruiter a forged document.

    Forged documents don't work these days.
    Wilson, Jim Palmer, Prime are difficult to be accepted for employment; nit-picky at best.
    Once you're with Wilson or Jim Palmer though, the paychecks are pretty good and they're decent companies.

    Typically when you get paid cash, there is no proof of income. With no proof of income, there's nothing to file on taxes. Meaning I haven't filed taxes in 4 years or so and it was just on a job I took temporarily for extra income. Thanks for your help tho
