I know this may be a dumb question but I have never leased a truck until last year. Do you send the company you lease/rent the truck from a 1099-MISC at the end of each year? I don't want to be banging myself in the rear by reporting the deduction and then get audited for not issuing a 1099, if I am supposed to.

    Thank you all in advance.

No. Expense it as normal. 1099's shoulda been sent long ago, BTW

    Stringb8n Thanks this.

I appreciate the reply. I googled it and kept finding different information, that if you lease equipment, you report the rental payments on 1099-MISC. The leasing company sent me an email with the total I paid them for the year, which I thought might have been for me to issue a 1099 accurately. But if I don't need to issue a 1099, then I am not going to. Thank you.
