How many miles on your engine?
Anything new parts you put on in the last year?
    What truck?
    Are you at home?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Mileage says it has around 680000 but from the previous owner i know that is wrong....He had about 6 years...Didnt had that issue before.

can it be a faulty injector causing the problem ?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Can you afford to park it for a couple off days?
Diesel in oil....i don't have to tell you what that does to a engine.

As to the cause.....there are guys on here who know the series 60 real good but they are sleeping now.

    Rideandrepair and jvillarreal82 Thank this.

I’ve got 3 trucks over 1.9 million miles with the series 60 Detroit 12.7. I’m no mechanic but I believe one of the main reasons diesel goes into the oil is when you idle at very low rpms in cold weather. You need to bump the rpms a tiny bit. Otherwise all the diesel won’t get burned up and will leak through the sleeve which is not a cheap fix. I could be wrong though because it’s also usually an injector. But with the cold weather it’s something to think about.

YES! Just happened to me. I had scheduled to get unto Detroit and get it checked out. I don't idle so that wasn't the problem. It shut down on the highway. I checked to see if coolant or oil, and the oil on the stick was about 3 inches above the line. All injectors were bad, but number 4 plunger was stuck open. It needed bearings too.

    Get it checked out pronto!

Check & see if one of your injectors is leaking. I had that problem fixed & the green monster was ready to run strong again. I hope all goes well for you.
