The whole thing is not quite right.

I rather have that 100 dollars that is all yourn and free from problems. Than a million pending 1099 federal and state taxes etc etc etc etc. (No I wont take your money... he he)

I'm a company driver so technically, the truck belongs to them the company. I get 1500 a week which I suppose to pay taxes on . So their truck I drive ,truck make money for them I never see the money that truck makes for them beside the little $1500 they gave me. But you saying I still have to pay tax on their money ... interesting

If you are going to go the 1099 route, you could always start an LLC and run the monies through that. It will be in your best financial interest to set up an LLC. I would check with a CPA, as the tax laws have changed, they might recommend a Sub Chapter S Corp. Personally, you are opening a can of worms going 1099 unless you own the truck.

I'm paying .70 a mile and guarantee $1750 a week minimum to each driver for a team W2 and getting no bites.

Point being drivers are in huge demand and there's many jobs out there. The white volvo crew doesn't exactly have a stellar reputation.
Look into LTL, many good driving jobs in that field that pay well.

Tax bills they cannot pay... Quite a bit in a few cases, in excess of $20,000

    That's a real possibility.

I could be wrong. If I am you would sign a W2 as a proper employee and enjoy that 1500 a week on a truck you do not own.

But the dark thought in me suspects you will be paying taxes on 1099 for everything that truck generates. You own that truck? It's your money. They probably will get a percentage for dispatch and maybe fronting your shop and fuel expenses plus whatever else. But this whole thing smells. I won't do it.
