I agree that 160 has a great reputation. I actually had the opportunity to go through the 160 drivers academy. I can say that the location in West Allis/Oak Creek was great. I don't know exactly how their tuition is. I paid out of pocket. I do know that they have people coming from some big trucking companies to train. Which those are paid by the company for the most part, and each student that has come from those companies sign a contract for cdl school. But for my experience with 160 was a great one since I live in Milwaukee. Their classroom and yard is about 1 mile west of Miller Park and 1/2 mile from State Fair. So my commute was nor more then 10 mins. As for the classroom the instructor that teaches the mandatory 40 hours was great. They explain everything in detail. Only down fall is that people that have no idea about Trucking industry ask a lot of questions which most times come from young students under the age of 25. But I guess that would be good for them to ask questions and understand the concept. The classroom time is Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm with two 15 min breaks and lunch break for 30 mins. After classroom hours are completed you move to the yard same hours and break times. The instructors are awesome one of the instructors that I worked with had 2 million miles and no accidents under his belt. The other instructor had a out 750k miles. The yard instructors have been their over 5 years. So the comment about they go through instructors is not accurate. As well as the smoking cigarette comment was not true as well. You do get to smoke cigs during class but you can on your breaks and they want you to smoke downwind. I just thought I would give people interested in a cdl program at 160 was like. Hope it helps with your decision either going through 160 or to a program at MATC or WCTC. Which I heard WCTC has a driving simulator. At least for me I would rather be actually working on a truck and driving in a truck that you actually take your exam in. The yard has automatic and manual trucks as well. But as for 160 I thought it was very good. I took the exam and passed it the first time. With your tuition all your expenses are paid for such as your Fed Med card your DOT drug test and your exam and DMV fees. I can only give 160 great reviews as to my experience. For me I was wanting to upgrade my experience as I drove a box truck for 6 years locally and OTR. 160 does help you with securing a job after passing the exam. Schneider hires a lot of students that graduate as well as Prime. As a 160 graduate you have lifetime access to a platform for job opportunities, the platform has plenty of job opportunities and the platform was super easy to use. After you put in your driving experience and qualifications you will have access to those companies that are hiring. It's super easy to use you swipe left if your interested in a company or swipe right if you want to pass on a company. Hope this helps in making your decision in a cdl school. I'll try to ask as many questions I can weekly
