i have seen older post on the subject but nothing up to date and was wondering has anything changed as far as the life span of 17.5 tires as well as the long list of negatives i have read about is it a good investment hauling for landstar? looking to buy a step this year and am trying to decide between a 53ft mac or 53ft doonan speced brand new

My 435 landoll is on 17.5's. I had fire stones on it and had trouble with blow outs. Now get this,I swapped to double coins and absolutely no problems. That being said if I had a choice I would definitely go with the 22.5's.

19.5 are an option as well. Might find more choices in that size as well.

More common on the road if you have a blow out than 17.5’s. There on my landoll also so it doesn’t see the miles your trailer will.
