I have a 51’ Fontaine step deck on 22.5’s and it’s been great to have at Landstar. Mine has container locks and a sliding rear axle to be CA legal. I personally don’t see a need for 17.5’s on a two-axle step deck. The trailer I just described is much more versatile and better suited to brokered freight.

@Blkcowboy If you’re a Landstar BCO you need to call LCAPP and get tire pricing from them on our national account.

Over the years I’ve run Goodyear, Bridgestone, and Michelin. Never had good luck with Goodyear and won’t buy them again. The Bridgestones were good, but the Michelin’s are the best tires I’ve ever had on my truck.
