Correct.
On a short wheelbase cabover, I don’t know how much weight on the steering axle varies from empty to loaded, but on my conventional it only varied about 1,500 lbs, so my air pressure between loaded and empty was only 5-7 psi variance.

 

Man I like that truck. Wish I would’ve been in a position to buy it.

You did a great job with this thread until several of us hijacked it talking about air ride.

I missed one of your questions.
TB77 versus RB295. I don’t know that one is better than the other. Greasable should be better, albeit messier, but I had TB77’s on my first setup, and I was surprised how much play they had in the upper pin and bushing when I pulled them off after 150,000 miles of use. I actually sent new hangers to the guy that bought it because of that.
I decided to use the RB295’s this go around to see how they hold up, and eliminate the grease mess. Ask me in two years what I think of them.
As far as buying a kit with the factory PACCAR four bag setup, it’s going to be hard, unless you find a used take off.
I wish I could post a video of how my old heap drives, but I can’t.

As for kits I have heard nothing from 3 suppliers. Not sure if its putting it all together, freight, or whatever but no interest. My 3 spring parabolic quote with new bushes, shackles, u bolts, koni's is about $3000, recon the US made air will be at least 7 or 8 with easy engineering plate. If I happen to find a spring maker locally who's up for it, CAD plates and so on it will head 10+ with prove every step engineering. So its been fun, interesting and educational, but think the dirt ol leafs will be the set op on the 100E. Lets hope a seat makes up for a lot of "oh you should have". Springing the cab has also amounted to nothing so probably bought the wrong truck in the end if I'm brutally honest. Its simplicity has its strong points however.

 

34kw, some candy for your patience. 1980 SAR W-924. What I really wanted instead of the 100. Bit hard to come by these days especially at a fair price for the condition. Perhaps your next adventure but recon one of these in the US will be like AG130 in Aus.
