1990s COE

Didn’t they have like a 7 speed ?

 

I did. 88’s and older had 7 speed. 89’s and newer were 9 and 10 speeds.

 

Some of the last ones they ordered in 1999 did have some 435 hp Detroits with 10’s. They were trying hard to retain drivers at that time. Late ‘99 they ordered their first ever conventionals. FL columbias.

 

They even tried out a Pete 362 or two

 

I got a new one in 91. I thought I was in heaven. A 9800 double bunk stand up sleeper.

 

What terminal did he run out of? I ran out of North Little Rock Arkansas.

I looked at a late 90s flat floor 9700 raised roof bus at international in Melrose park Ill once .
It had a n14 Cummins rated at 330hp with a 9 speed .
400k ish miles and practically giving it away lol.
Wife at the time said no ...rest is history.
