Hey guys it's been a while. I've searched and can't seem to find what I want. The best way I can describe what's going on is this. I have a 96 w900l 550 3406e. When accelerating sometimes it Justs cutts out. The engine does not quit it just looses power then right back on. I'm almost positive it's an electrical issue. My first guess is the accelerator pedal. Any ideas?

It could be a couple of different things causing this, timing sensor, throttle position sensor, speed sensor. You need to hook it up to a laptop and see what faults are stored in the ECM, before you start changing parts

The first thing you want to do is clean the power and grounds, be sure to clean the grounds at the cylinder head stud, also check the connections at the battery's and the fuse holders.
If you have the unit on the laptop and t does not have any codes, scroll down to the keys on total and watch the totals. If when it is running and it stumbles and the tally goes up it could be the power to the ECM or the ignition switch, or it's wiring.
    Just a thought!

Way to revive an old thread. I had this similar issue and ended up being the harness of the injectors. The mechanic couldn’t fine the problem in the beginning, then he starting tapping on the harness connections and it sputtered. He had found the problem. Had the harness replaced, problem solved. At least for my issue on my former 3406E.
