ok so had a reman engine installed on my 1997 Volvo. 2 baffling problems

    1. when you accelerate at 1000rpms the engine surges to 1600rpms. new tps installed no change. with the key off the computer shows the tps working properly. with engine running the computer shows pedal at 15 percent at the 1000rpm surge and then doesn't change until at rev limit.

    2. the coolant level sensor and tank are brand new. when the truck is cold the sensor is not reading coolant and shuts truck off. jump the sensor and get truck warm and you can take jumper wire off and it works fine.

    any tips?

For the coolant sensor issue, I'd suggest checking that the level is correct. The coolant level will rise once its warmed up so it makes sense that you could just have low coolant.

the level is correct you can visibly see the coolant and it is at the max line.

I am wondering if maybe the coolant temp sensor could cause that but it seemed like it was reading fine when it was on the computer
