1997 FRUEHAUF Reefer HELP!

    A couple of things to think about. Carrier's Phoenix was the first generation of the Ultra series and they have made lots of improvements since then. If this is a '96 reefer unit (the unit is usually a year older than the trailer)you will not be CARB compliant with this reefer unless you have an exhaust filter system added, for no less than $4000, plus two or three days wait, plus getting to a location that can do the retrofit. Check the serial number of the Carrier unit. If the first letter is anything that comes before K you're out of compliance or will be on New Years Day. No matter what the condition, a '97 isn't worth more than $10K.
