I thought they were all talking about the same engine -- so are they not related to 1LW08490 CATERPILLAR 3406E-and is everyone talking about a different engine ?

oh don't get me wrong JP3 has and does help out with some good and helpful info. He also likes to slam Cat and Cat owners at every chance he gets. Why cause its if its not a money savin Fld 120 with an under powered Detroit its not worth ownen or something like that. I currently own 1 or two form the big three so I'm not a true wont buy anything but a..... although my personal preference is Cat.

There is allot of good cat engines. You just have to know what to do to make them good. How about the 6NZ, 7CZ, 1MM, 2LW, and not many people may agree but the best on of all the MBN (because thats what I have and love it) Just to name a few.

 

My 3406C mechanical is better.....LOL!!

 

I don't think I will disagree with ya on that. As it is a mechanical engine not an e-model. Or should I say c-15 or c-16

 

What I like about my 1LW is watching all those DD15 powered Freightshakers cough and spit while they fade away in my mirrors while my Cat pulls 80000 up the hill.

 

I'm just in love with my mechanical I guess, hard to beat what you have thou.

I work with a know it all, he has a freight junker with a DD 515hp, one day I was loaded with 95,000 and he was 92,000, my truck is heaver but we both had 27 ton on, I was behind him going into a big hill, I smoked him by 1/8 a mile to the first crest, then idled up the second hill and let him pass, never said a word, my 15 speed against his 13.
