1st time Houston to Bakersfield .ca advice ?

Why in the hell would you go way out of a route to Bakersfield to come into LA ? That’s like adding minimum 2 to 3 hours. If you want to avoid the 10, come down 40 and south on the 15 then 210 west.

Used to run this pretty regular when I lived in Houston. 290 to Hwy 6 through Waco. I 20 to 84 to Lubbock. US 84 to I 40 in New Mexico West all the way to Barstow. Jump on 58 into Bakersfield.
Virtually no traffic issues. Plenty of truck stops. In my opinion the easiest way to go and probably the shortest also.

I’m getting forgetful in my old age. I used to run Houston To Denver a lot too and I guess it all kind of blended!

 

That country is my old stomping grounds, shoot I used to work in houston and go to clovis NM on weekends. lol
