    Ummm what kind of "tanker" was it ? The manholes on most are kind of small to just fall right in.
    Disclaimer : trust me i know my S***, and i never heard of manure being transported in a tanker.....
    Perhaps a holding tank for methane digestion ?

    manure is transported in tankers all the time. I've literally hauled millions of gallons of liquid swine and cattle manure

    Some farmers transport it in a tanker from the farm to their field and transfer it to the spreader at the field. It could also be referring to the spreader as a tanker; some spreaders have a good sized hole that a guy could fall into fairly easily I suppose

    I wonder if those are the tankers I see that look like milk haulers but say "inedible" on the back. Man, they're not kidding are they?
