I just past my year mark as a driver and the last accident was about 6 months ago. They were both relatively minor as far as damages. The first incident I reported to safety and they recorded initially as a unpreventable accident. After the second incident they went back and looked at that incident and decided to change it to preventable, so I got a two for one. I asked my safety manager why it was changed and if I could contest it but he basically said he didn't know why and that it was decided by upper management and there was nothing that could be done about it.
I am happy to still be employed but is there anything i can do to contest this? If not how are my prospects in landing a better job anytime soon, or how long will it take?

Sounds like every 6 months you have this need to "meet" somebody!

Both of those will be on your DAC/Hireright printout...(if they report to them)...so it is past time to get your head where it belongs ALL THE TIME when driving. Most companies look at your past 3 years especially when seeing accidents....preventable and/or non-preventable. You need to get your record going in a better direction!

a better job is NOT in your future.

you are a risk, and no one will touch you.

You will be fine. Everybody here gets their panties in a bunch when they hear someone got into an accident. Like it's never going to happen to them. I can't wait for all the ole hands to chime in with their " I've been truckin' for 30 years and never hit ntin'"

Anyway, I failed to use GOAL 2 times in my first year with Crete and when I left there were several companies waiting to hire me. Newbies always hit stuff. Learn from it and move on. I did, at least I think so.

I'm kinda interested in a little more info.

    Were they accidents, or incidents?
You seem to intertwine the terms.

    What, exactly, happened?

I would say that one more preventable could likely cost you your driving career. Better tighten up and quick! I would also recommend you not trying to currently switch jobs.

thata boy...now you're talking and see the darkness in the tunnel.

you have too much against you at this point and time.

you will not be hired on anyplace else, and as said, ONE MORE and you are permanently OUT.

good luck, as you most certainly need it.
